What is the concussion epidemic?
- Every year in the US, up to 3.8 million sports concussions occur
- 1 in 10 concussions result in loss of consciousness

- On average, every 4 minutes, another Canadian is concussed
- Of sports-related concussions 85% go undiagnosed
- Experiencing identical impact, youth suffer greater injury than adults
- 47% of high school football players in the US suffer a concussion each season; 37% of those report multiple concussions
- A third of all youth get at least 1 concussion before they graduate from high school
- Many concussions result in mild to severe ongoing problems, some lasting a lifetime
CTE reduction possible too
NEW - In addition to the goal of concussion reduction, a Jan 2018 news story released has attributed the primary cause of CTE due to repeated head impacts that are below the concussion level. That makes our technology even more exciting as our superior performance at the low impact level is where the CTE concern is now focused.
For more information on the new CTE findings, you can read several news stories and research papers coming from the Boston University Medical Center where much of this research has been done.
